Jenny Parsons
Choices in the Leafy Greens III

Born in 1967 and schooled in Durban, Jenny graduated from the Durban University of Technology (formerly the Natal Technikon) with a Higher National Diploma in Fine Arts in 1988.

After graduating, Parsons participated in numerous exhibitions as well as holding two solo exhibitions. She worked as a lecturer for the Natal Technikon Short Courses Unit and for the Natal Society of Arts.
In 1991 she moved to Cape Town.

Jenny has since worked with a number of art and educational institutions including Community Arts Project and the Durbanville Cultural Society. Her last full time teaching position was at the Ruth Prowse College of Art and Design where she was head of the Fine Art department in 1998 and 1999.

Since 2000, Parsons has worked as a full-time artist from her studio in Observatory, exhibiting regularly in South African galleries.

In January and February 2011, and again in March and April 2016, Jenny was a resident at the Cite Internationale des Arts in Paris.

In 2014 she studied a Post Graduate Diploma at Michaelis School of Fine Art UCT which she passed with distinction.
